Golf Solitaire is a relaxing card game with a mystic look at the surface but you need to think smart and time is of the essence. It is a one-player form of solitaire in which one does not accumulate suits or piles, but rather gets the board clear without taking up too much time in the process. How to Play Golf Solitaire

In Golf Solitaire, the board is set up with seven columns, each holding five face-up cards. Below them sits the Stock (a face-down pile) and an empty Waste pile next to it.

Your objective is simple: move all the cards from the columns onto the Waste pile. You are only able to move the top card on each column. In case there is no suitable card that satisfies the one-up or one-down key, you will have to take a card out of the Stock and put it on the Waste.

One of the most significant details should be remembered:

You can only go through the Stock once. There are no resets, so every draw matters.

The game is won when all column cards are moved to the Waste. Any cards left in the Stock don’t matter. If the Stock runs out and no moves are left, the game ends—but you can always use Undo to try a different approach.

Controls Guide

• Click / Tap a card in the columns – Move it to the Waste pile (if it’s one rank higher or lower than the top card on the Waste)
• Click / Tap the Stock pile – Draw a new card to the Waste when no moves are available
• Undo button – Take back your last move to try a different strategy
• New Game – Start a fresh deal

Scoring and Strategy

Winning is about clearing the board, but doing it efficiently is what separates a good run from a great one. The game tracks:

• Number of cards left (zero means a win)
• Number of moves used

If two players clear the same layout, the one who uses fewer moves gets the better result. Smart players often avoid rushing to the Stock, saving it for moments when the board truly locks up. Planning a few moves ahead can make a big difference.

Common Variations You Might See

Some versions of Golf Solitaire allow extra flexibility, such as:

• “Turning the corner”: placing an Ace on a King or a King on an Ace
• Allowing a Queen or Ace to be placed on a King

These variations make more games solvable, with estimates suggesting that around 93% of deals can be won when these rules are enabled.
