Pool Duel Gameplay Guide

Start with the Break

Each match begins with the opening break, where all 15 balls are spread across the table. The first ball pocketed determines your group:

  • Solids (1–7)
  • Stripes (9–15)

Once your group is assigned, focus only on pocketing those balls before attempting the 8-ball.

Beat the Shot Clock

The most significant distinction between Pool Duel and other online pool games is that each shot is timed for 30 seconds.

Each turn you will have to:

  • Read the table layout quickly.
  • Choose the best target ball.
  • Adjust your aim and shot power.
  • Take the shot before the timer reaches zero.

If time runs out, your turn immediately ends and the AI opponent takes control.

Use the Aiming Guide

A visible aiming guideline helps predict ball trajectory and cue-ball movement.

Use it to:

  • Line up accurate shots.
  • Plan combination plays.
  • Position the cue ball for your next turn.
  • Avoid difficult angles after pocketing a ball.

Thinking one shot ahead is often the key to winning matches consistently.

Win the Match

After clearing all of your assigned balls, pocket the 8-ball to win.

Be careful when taking the final shot:

  • Sink the 8-ball cleanly to claim victory.
  • Scratch while shooting the 8-ball and you lose instantly.
  • Winning matches earns prize money that can be spent on unlocking new cue designs and table skins.

Game Controls

  • Aim: Move your mouse or drag your finger across the screen
  • Adjust Shot Power - Move the mouse or finger back
  • Shoot: Press or lift the mouse button (or finger)

Tips for Excellent Shoots

  • Use the first few seconds of the timer to choose your shot, then focus on a smooth execution.
  • Place the cue ball to play the next ball rather than just pocketing the last ball.
  • Practice bank shots when direct angles are blocked.
  • Stay calm under pressure—the timer is short, but rushed shots often lead to mistakes.
  • Plan ahead before attempting the 8-ball so you have a clear finishing angle.
